RAIN: NM Bay - a praying city!

Many exciting initiatives have taken place in our city which has resulted in more and more Christians working and networking together.

Frequently our people are called to a citywide prayer event but regrettably, because of our geographical dispersion, only a small percentage of our citizens are able to participate. To make it possible for everyone, irrespective of where you stay or work, to participate the church leadership has decided to embark on an innovative approach to include everybody.

We have come up with the following suggestions that in the need for the city to pray together, the city fathers would call upon the entire city to pray until our prayers were answered. We thought of a five point "plan" to make it possible for everyone to participate.
  1. Firstly, we would encourage every person in NM Bay to stop for 1 minute to 12:00 each day to pray for the current needs in our city.
  2. We will request our local radio stations to remind everyone at 11:59 daily to remember to pray for our city.
  3. We would ask all churches who have church bells to ring them daily at 11:59.
  4. We encourage all local churches, as most already do, to include in their Sunday service a prayer slot for city prayer needs.
  5. Finally, if the city felt the need, we would call a special citywide prayer meeting on either the Vuyisile Mini Square or at St Mary's Cathedral across the road from the City Hall.
Please discuss this "plan" with your congregation and encourage them to participate.

Our Mayor, through the municipal religious desk, has approached the church leadership to call a special citywide prayer service for RAIN on the Vuyisile Mini Square, on Thursday, 15 December 2016 from 09:00 to 10:00. Please accept this as an invitation to participate.

A finalized programme for next Thursday's citywide prayer meeting will be emailed to all churches shortly.
