The New Beginnings Community Church (Algoa Park Baptist Church) was built in February 1959. It then consisted of a single building with chairs with the cornerstone was laid by Mr. Gordon Ficks.

The congregation then used this one building until February 1983 when the rest of the building was completed. Today the "old" building is used as a hall for functions etc and the new part as the church. The Church grew over the years and started with Pastor Henry Whelon as the first pastor followed by Past Ian Waterson, then David Waterson, then pastor Ben Nortje, who was inducted in 2001 but has since passed away. The current pastor is Revd William Blaauw.
