Tens of thousands of people in Nelson Mandela Bay will be switched on to the Light of the World, Jesus Christ, during a citywide evangelistic outreach from August 16 to August 22, 2015.
Churches throughout the Metro are partnering with African Enterprise in the history-making “Switched On” Mission in preparation for which 1 000 members of local churches will be trained and equipped to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those who do not know Him or who have lost touch with Him.
The mission will open and close with big stadium events addressed by high profile speakers. There will also be a week of smaller events including ministry in schools and at NMMU, business meetings, public service meetings, street events, prison outreaches, men’s and women’s breakfasts and several surprises.
In addition to evangelism training, which will take place from August 13 to August 15, there will be numerous opportunities for members of local churches to be part of “Switched On” in various voluntary capacities. Every church in and around the Metro will be kept updated and invited to participate in the mission. Over the coming weeks expect to hear more news at church, through various media channels and online. Follow the mission on Facebook at

“Switched On” Mission Steering Committee Chairman Rory Spence says: “This is a God-given opportunity for the whole church in the Bay to work together for one purpose – to proclaim that salvation can only be found in Jesus Christ.”
