Switched On team members celebrate the good news that the Sahara St George's Oval has been secured as the venue for the opening rally and final celebration of the citywide mission in August. No, Port Elizabeth's international cricket stadium is not getting new floodlights. But the 20 000 seater Sahara St George's Oval is confirmed as the venue for the opening rally and final celebration of Switched On -- the citywide evangelistic outreach in August, 2015.
The opening rally will be from 3pm to 6pm on Sunday, August 16 and the final celebration will be from 3pm to 6pm on Saturday, August 22. Both events will be addressed by high profile speakers. Some of the anticipated hundreds of events
throughout Nelson Mandela Bay during the week of Switched On are also expected to be held at the stadium.
The mission steering committee and satellite working groups are expanding daily as Christians throughout Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage are excitedly catching the vision of "plugging in" and working together to win tens of thousands of souls in a Kingdom partnership between the churches of NMB and African Enterprise.
A thousand new evangelists and an even larger number of counsellors drawn from local churches will be trained to serve at outreaches to schools, the university, prisons, hospitals and clinics, taxi ranks, old age homes, businesses and professional offices, police stations, community halls and at open air and tent crusades.
More details about the events, training and volunteer opportunities will be announced soon. You can follow the mission on Facebook at
