Cape Town, 17 October 2023 – The Bible Society of South Africa recently launched an upgraded version of BibleSA, an online Bible-reading platform.

With a focus on user experience, the enhanced site offers an immersive journey into the divine Scriptures, ensuring a seamless exploration of God's Word.

In addition to various reading plans, a dedicated children's section, access to more than 1 100 topics, background articles and 52 full-colour maps, the revamped platform introduces new features and improvements to provide users with a more enjoyable and enriching experience.

One of the critical updates includes a dedicated section where users can conveniently store their highlights and notes in one place, allowing for personalised and organised engagement with the Bible.

Selecting a Bible translation, chapter, and verse has also been simplified. These upgrades make reading the Bible online more streamlined and accessible for individuals seeking specific passages or translations.

A significant addition to the platform is the inclusion of audio Bibles in all official South African languages. Users can now opt for this auditory experience, enabled by a user-friendly navigation bar. This feature allows users to skip to different recording sections and customise their listening experience by adjusting the audio speed, ensuring a tailored encounter with the Scriptures.

Additionally, users can customise the look and feel of the Bible reader, providing a personalised touch to their digital experience.

"We are excited to introduce the improved BibleSA platform, tailored to meet the evolving needs of our users," said Talitha Huysamer, Team Lead for Publishing and Bible Engagement at the Bible Society. "These updates reflect our dedication to creating a user-friendly platform directed at meeting the Bible-related needs of South Africans. To this end, we will continue to improve and expand BibleSA. Requests for assistance or suggestions to improve the platform can be directed to biblesa@biblesociety.co.za."
