13th July 2010
Dear Friends
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven…….He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end” (Ecclesiastes 3:1,11).
Knowing and understanding the times and seasons of God in our lives and nations is so important if we want to live both a peaceful and fruitful life. When we understand God’s workings, even if there seems to be chaos all around, we remain in perfect peace, peace that passes understanding (Is 26:3, Phil 4:6-7). Likewise when we understand the season we know what must be sown at that time to produce a good harvest.
2010 is indeed a season of Restoration and Reconciliation as the word of the Lord came at its beginning, and in this year those who believe this and have pressed into the grace for it are seeing the fruit. I want to encourage you to check back on that word and see how much of it has come to pass in your life, family, church and the nation.
It is also a year of double grace with fine print tests. This too has proved to be so true, especially the fine print tests! You have grace to pass through them all in victory so if you are at the end of your own ability and strength, reach out and receive fresh grace. No weapon formed against you will prosper in this season. As long as you are aligned to God’s purpose and will, and living a holy life, the enemy will be the one to be frustrated. Jesus is building His church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it (and that includes you).
As the Lord spoke to us last year concerning judgment for the nation, and that beginning in the House of the Lord (1 Peter 4:17) so we are seeing it. The Lord gave us a word to show us what He was doing “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there” Rev 11:1b. He has released His angels to do the measuring – the yardstick is Christ and what is not of Him in our lives, ministries, congregations, families, etc. will be judged. Our Christian lives in general as the church have been so far from that of Christ. Take these six characteristics of Christ’s life and check if they are also yours:
Submission – Surrender – Selflessness – Servanthood – Suffering – Sacrifice
Since writing in January, many things of great significance have happened, both in the spiritual and the natural - the Africa House of Prayer Jubilee Conference in Abuja (highlights & dvds available on request), the Pastors/Ministers Prayer Network Gauteng Conference ‘Rebirth of Africa’ (cds & dvds available on request) and of course the Fifa Soccer World Cup (Please take enough time of thanksgiving to God on this matter). Africa has truly entered into its new season and Jubilee is not just a word but an experience for all who are willing to receive it and enter in to it with all of its promises and conditions.
To bring Africa, and of course South Africa and for us the Eastern Cape, into its place of ‘shine’ where the face of the continent is visibly different, will require us to do more than just pray. We will pray, but we will also have to learn to work hard at bringing about change to align our lives, the church and the nation with the will of God as revealed in His word. A prophetic word was released by Dr Jonathan David in June this year which includes a word that says this is South Africa’s year. We have a specific window of opportunity from the Lord to do things we have been unable to before. There is therefore urgency for us to act! We must not miss this time of our visitation from God.
We have put certain plans in place to help us in this, the first one being a Prayer and Fasting Retreat from 13th to 16th August under the leadership of Laban Jjumba one of the continental leaders of the Africa House of Prayer. Don’t miss this opportunity to be realigned and revived in your prayer life. For more information contact Victory at our office.
Secondly, we are facilitating the training by Professor Vincent Anigbogu of the Institute of National Transformation. We are privileged to be hosting this in East London and would ask you to mobilise key people from around our province as well as the nation to undertake this training. This will involve study and hard work but the result should be a group of serious minded people being ready to bring transformation in our nation. This begins in 17th -18th September and takes place one weekend a month for five months. Details have already been sent out. Please contact us for any further information needed.
Thirdly, we are holding an International Prayer Conference under the Pastors/Minister Prayer Network, also in East London from 26th September to 1st October. The theme of the conference is “My Watchmen shall see eye to eye” Isa. 52:8 and will include sessions of dialogue to bring us into a place of reconciling ourselves to one another and God’s prophetic destiny for our province. The city of East London and the Eastern Cape have a key role to play in the destiny of our nation and continent. We do not want to delay any longer in fulfilling this.
In preparation for this conference pastors are meeting to pray each week on Thursdays 8 – 9 a.m. and 5 – 6 p.m. at New Hope Fellowship in St James Road, East London. Please contact us to start a similar pastors’ prayer meeting in your town or city. This is the primary function of PMPN-Africa. Also we are asking all those who have prophecies concerning our province to please send them to us that we may be able to see clearly what the Lord has in His heart concerning our territory.
As I write this I am in Lagos, Nigeria for the PMPN-A Congress – Agents of Change. Pray for us that all who attend will return to be just that in their nations.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in van in the Lord”
1 Corinthians 15:57.
Continually compelled by the love of Christ for Africa
